Role Description
In Scouts we have always worked in teams and we have recognised that by our recent organisational changes that split most of our roles into teams. So we have group, section, district etc teams. And we need talented people to lead these, could you help?
Purpose of the Role
The Team Leader is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the team, creating a positive environment, and supporting team members in their roles.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership and Management:
- Provide leadership and direction to the team.
- Ensure tasks are shared among team members based on their skills, interests, and availability.
- Maintain a positive and inclusive team environment.
- Ensure safety and safeguarding procedures are followed.
- Support and Development:
- Help team members find learning and networking opportunities.
- Encourage team members to share updates and identify areas where they need support.
- Conduct regular team self-reviews and individual reviews with team members.
- Recruitment and Induction:
- Assist in recruiting new volunteers and ensure they receive a warm welcome and complete their learning.
- Communication and Coordination:
- Facilitate effective communication within the team and with other teams.
- Ensure the team is aligned with the broader goals and strategies of the Scout Association.
