We’re pleased to announce that Rev Kevin Ellis (aka “Rev Kev”!) has agreed to be the District Chaplain for ScoutsMôn. Kevin is the Vicar of Bro Eleth centred around Amlwch and Llannerchymedd, and has been involved in Scouting for most of his life. He grew up in Sheffield where he was a Cub, Scout and Venture Scout. Prior to ordination, he worked in education, and when he was in Cheltenham was Assistant Scout Leader of 1st (Christ Church) Cheltenham. After his ordination, he ministered on the west coast of Cumbria and in Birmingham where he was an active member of the County multi-faith Scout Chaplaincy Team.

He and his family moved to Anglesey in 2014, first to Holyhead and then in 2017 to Amlwch where he helped “refresh” the 1st Amlwch Scout Group. Despite his heavy workload, he remains the Chair of the Group Exec and recently found time to attend GogJam where he ran an online ScoutsOwn involving a Christian Rapper – not traditional but well received!

In addition to his Christian Ministry and Scouting activities, Kevin is an active advocate for many worthwhile causes and is an ardent learner of the Welsh language. (Follow him on Twitter @ParchKevin).

One of the first things Kevin has volunteered to do is to prepare a list of people of various faiths who Groups can contact when they are doing activities around Faith & Beliefs. You can help Kevin by letting him have names of people who have previously supported you in these activities.

You can contact Kevin on 01407831525 and his email is parchkevinellis@gmail.com. Please join us in welcoming Kevin to the District Team and feel free to invite him any events that you are running.
